Oakland-based singer and composer LILAN KANE has been a Black Cat favorite since its opening!
LILAN has sung with Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra, and opened for Hall & Oates, Lenny Williams, Freddie Hughes, The Doobie Brothers, Chicago, Sharon Jones, Trombone Shorty, and Morgan James. LILAN will perform her soulful originals and pay homage to some of her favorite artists including Roy Hargrove, Bill Withers, and Erykah Badu. The sultry honesty in her voice is as raw as her lyrical stories of love, life and self-discovery. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, LILAN has sold out numerous residencies at Yoshi’s Oakland and SFJAZZ as well as performances at Minton’s Playhouse, Chris’s Jazz Cafe, French Quarter Festival, Concord Pavillion, The Whisky A GoGo, Fillmore Jazz Festival and many others. Her killin’ band features a lineup of Bay Area *All-Star* jazz musicians: Matt Wong (keys), Scott Thompson (bass) and James Small (drums). SPECIAL GUEST *Bay Area *All-Stars* will share the stage. Lilan’s new single “TKMO” pays homage to the challenges of quarantine as well as one of her favorite artists Roy Ayers.
