Composer De’Sean Jones is a 2x Grammy-nominated and 3x Stellar Award-winning arranger. Jones is a 2022 Kresge Fellow Award Recipient, and newly  named curator for the DSO Detroit Symphony, where he conducts and composes for his latest ensemble, Urban Art Orchestra.

A protege of Techno pioneer, “Mad” Mike Banks (Underground Resistance), and the late trumpet icon Marcus Belgrave, Jones continues to uphold the legacy of being an ambassador for the rich musical history of Detroit.

In addition to his body of work as a composer and music educator, De’Sean Jones is also an indie label owner of *knmdk records* which currently features his most recent projects “Anti-Philosophy,” a drum and bass-inspired collaboration, and “Urban Art Orchestra,” which emphasize imaginative string compositions for a 30-piece ensemble.
